Generating a Math Worksheet
Creating Your First Worksheet
The Math Generator is the core feature of LifeSchoolers. It lets you create custom math worksheets tailored to any topic and difficulty level. Whether you need quick arithmetic practice or challenging calculus problems, the generator has you covered.
Step 1: Open the Math Generator
Navigate to Math Generator from the navigation bar at the top of the page. This opens the worksheet creation screen where you can configure all of your settings before generating.
Step 2: Select a Topic
Click the topic selector dropdown to browse available topics. Topics are organized in a hierarchical structure:
- Category (e.g., Arithmetic, Algebra, Calculus)
- Subcategory (e.g., Addition, Quadratic Equations)
- Specific topic (e.g., Two-Digit Addition, Factoring Quadratics)
Click through the levels to drill down to the exact topic you want to practice.
Step 3: Choose a Difficulty Level
Select one of the four difficulty levels: Easy, Medium, Hard, or Mixed. Easy problems are introductory, Medium is standard practice, Hard provides a challenge, and Mixed gives you a variety of all three levels in one worksheet.
Step 4: Set the Number of Problems
Use the number input to set how many problems you want on your worksheet. You can choose anywhere from 1 to 50 problems. The default is 10, which is a good starting point for a focused practice session.
Step 5: Generate Your Worksheet
Click the Generate Worksheet button to create your worksheet. There are two types of generation depending on your selected topic:
- Algorithmic (instant) — For basic math topics (K-5 level) such as Counting, Arithmetic, and Fractions & Decimals. These worksheets are generated instantly.
- AI-powered (streaming) — For Pre-Algebra and above. These worksheets are generated by AI and may take a few seconds. You will see streaming progress messages while the worksheet is being created.
Once generation is complete, you will be automatically redirected to the worksheet view where you can start solving problems.
Tip: If you are unsure which topic to choose, start with a broad category and work your way down. The topic selector shows you exactly what kinds of problems you will get.
